In 2012, world economy experienced slower growth amid lusterless demand, causing slower output growth of chemical fiber industry in China, as well as sharp fall in export volume and industry margin. Will China chemical fiber industry be able to get the margin back? What problems deserve our notice with the acrylic industry? Zheng Junlin, Secretary General of CCFA contributes the first speech of the morning session, predicting a mild recovery of China economy in 2013, and provides valuable advices to the industry.

The second speech comes from Dr. Li Shigang, Academy of Macroeconomic Research of NDRC. Dr. Li points out that there are four major problems with current development of world economy. He also refers to characters of each key phase in the development of China economy, and argues that China is in a phase of politic, social and economic innovation.

After the coffee break, Sun Xiaojun, General Manager of Jilin JiMont Acrylic Fiber presents a speech focusing on problems facing China acrylic fiber industry, based on analysis on market fundamental and price changes. He points out that the industry of China is less integrated, vulnerable to feedstock price changes, and has much to improve in cost efficiency. He also advices producers to enhance their R&D in differentiated products.

Ma Zhengsheng, Senior Engineer of Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical talks about development of differentiated fibers. He starts with introducing status quo of world acrylic fiber industry, and then introduces the industry environment and product structure, as well as R&D of their company. He also emphasizes on the importance of quality and value-added products.

Motomichi Kishino from Asahi Kasei Chemicals provides an analysis on status quo and dynamics of acrylonitrile market fundamental, and factors behind market changes. As for perspective for 2013, he forecasts that demand will be flat, or with mild increase. Meanwhile, he refers to the RC initiative, which serves the global supplier¡¯s purpose of providing their customers with reliable products and services.

Liu Kelin, sales manager of Jilin Petrochemical contributes opinions about how to cope with fundamental changes from the view of one of the largest acrylonitrile supplier in Asia. He also takes a review to the market in 2012, and provides advices for the market in 2013 against the backdrop of expanding capacity both at home and overseas.

After coffee break, Lu Jianhua, President of Cixi Zhonglian Plush introduces status quo of China faux fur industry and future perspective, and talks about the importance of acrylic fiber to faux fur industry, requests acrylic fiber producers to accelerate technology upgrading and enhance innovation capability, to support the development of downstream players.

The last speech of the first day sessions comes from Biswajit Chaudhuri and Eklovya Bajaj representing Aditya Birla Group. They introduce development of Aditya Birla¡¯s acrylic business, as well as the application and developing trend of acrylic fibers, pointing out that the drive for the industry will come from high-value-added products.
